Material sets
Prepare recurring article collections and use them in material issues
Under System → Material sets, you manage reusable collections of inventory articles. This area is deliberately separate from Inventory settings: users can maintain sets without permission to change categories, properties, or statuses.
Create a set
A material set stores a name, optional description, and articles with standard quantities—for example “small press conference”, “DJ setup”, or “mobile workshop”.
Use a set
When inserted into a material issue, articles and quantities become a starting point. Period, availability, project, and recipient are defined in the concrete issue. Adjust quantities there when the individual case differs from the standard.
A set is therefore neither a reservation nor a stock change. Stock is only occupied for a period by the saved material issue.
Edit or delete a set
Update a set when the usual equipment changes permanently. Existing material issues are not changed retroactively. Before deleting a set, clarify whether teams still rely on it as a standard.
Set, basket, or copy?
| Tool | Best for |
|---|---|
| Material set | Recurring standard equipment across many issues |
| Product basket | One-off personal selection directly from the catalog |
| Copy issue | Reusing one specific earlier issue as a starting point |
Use clear names and keep the number of sets manageable. Several nearly identical names make selecting the wrong standard more likely.
